Fresh & Local

This Saturday we welcome author and preserving expert Sherri Brooks Vinton to market! She will be signing copies of her newest book, Put ‘em Up! Fruit, and tasting a selection from this great resource. Octavia Books will be on-hand for you to purchase a copy of this preserving guide and cookbook. We loved her first book, Put ‘em Up! and are excited to try all that this one has to offer. Join us from 9am-11am for this fantastic event, in conjunction with Tales of the Cocktail.

Pick of the Week: Creole Tomato Pepper Jelly!

Creole tomatoes are in abundance at the market, on local menus, and in our kitchens. Another way to taste this delicious seasonal food is in some of White Wood Farms delicious Backyard Creole Tomato pepper jelly, which combines the flavor of tomatoes with the kick of local peppers. As Anita says, it “makes you feel like you are in New Orleans”. Come pick up a jar of this, or one of her many other delicious preserves and sauces, at our Saturday market.

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

We have heard nothing but great things about Red Gravy’s GPS offerings this month! This week they keeps the flavor coming with your choice of grilled vegetable Napolean w/bruschetta, shrimp and pasta salad on greens, zucchini bread topped with creole cream cheese and italian sausage, and a refreshing key lime pie.
