Come out Saturday morning as we host Lolis Eric Elie, author of Treme: Stories and Recipes from the Heart of New Orleans. This highly anticipated cookbook features recipes from New Orleans superstar chefs, as well as from chefs that appeared on the HBO show of the same name. Our very own pie lady, Miss Chauvin, and her cushaw pie are featured in the book and she will be at market selling her delicious pies for this special event! Octavia Books will be on-hand for you to purchase your copy. Join us from 9-11am and pick up a copy for you and yours!

Pick of the Week: Eggplant!

Also known as aubergine, this summer favorite is making an appearance on tables all over market. Known for it’s beautiful purple color, this veggie is high in antioxidants and low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
