Fresh Fest Eating with CCFM! | April 28, 2014 |
Fresh & LocalOur friends, and Thursday market neighbors at the American Can Company, Pearl Wine Co. are in the midst of a very exciting time, their first anniversary! Since taking over the former Cork & Bottle last year, Leora Madden and the rest of the team at Pearl have been creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for New Orleans spirits and food lovers alike. In celebration, be sure to come out and catch the second week of PearlFest 2014! The festivities started last week with plenty of wine tasting, seafood and live music, and continue on this week with much more. From Wednesday to Sunday there will be great events happening every night at Pearl, including a Thursday night concert preceded by a free wine tasting and our very own Thursday farmers market next door from 3-7pm. This is a great time to show your support for local food and spirits so be sure to come on out and celebrate with us! Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialIt’s been a pleasure having Domenica out as our GPS vendors this month! We’re sad to see them go, but we’re really excited for their last lunch menu: Fried Shrimp with Pickled Root Vegetable biscuits, Domenica Chop Salad, Sweet Pea and Progress Creole Cream Cheese frittata, Fried Catfish ad Romesco bruschetta, and Clemons Sweet & Southern Shortcake. If you haven’t had a chance to enjoy any of Domenica’s lunch plates at market this month, be sure to come on out! Be on stand-by for Empanda Intifada for next month! |
Recipe of the WeekCelebrating Pearl has got us thinking about some of our favorite wine-based recipes. This recipe for Strawberry Wine and Raw Honey Granita in Walnut Tuile makes for a treat that is both refreshing and sweet. Pick up the bottle from Pearl and the honey from Paw Paw on Saturday. Can’t get your hands on any Strawberry wine? Purée some strawberries from Heather with a nice rosé from Pearl, then strain for a good substitute. |
