Boogie with CCFM! | May 12, 2014 |
Fresh & LocalWith such nice weather this week, we can’t think of a better time to celebrate another annual Bayou Boogaloo! Happening this Friday-Sunday along the banks of the beautiful Bayou St. John, the Boogaloo will be happening just steps away form our Thursday Mid-City market location at 3700 Orleans Ave. We’ll also be playing a part in the fun by sponsoring a Strawberry Shortcake making demo at the Slow Food NOLA Food Demonstration Stage from 7:15-7:45 with Strawberries from Johndale’s Farm and Creole Cream Cheese from Mauthe’s Dairy, two of our Thursday market vendors! There will be plenty of music, food, and fun for all ages so be sure to grab the kids and boogie on down to the Bayou this weekend! |
Pick of the Week: Challah At Me!We’re very excited to welcome our newest bread vendor, Challah At Me! Every week they’ll be selling a wide variety of tasty baked goods ranging from traditional Challah to Focaccia, Rustic Loaves, Savory Galletes and more at our Thursday Mid-City market. Not only are their breads delicious, but sole proprietor Dov Deustachio has a commitment to sourcing her ingredients locally, whether it be purchasing tomatoes for her focaccia at the market, or growing herbs in her own community garden. Be sure to come on out, say hello, and grab a loaf for yourself! |
Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialEmpanada Intifada is back again this week with their impressive selection of empanadas and side dishes! If you haven’t come out and tried any of these tasty Chilean-style empanadas, be sure to do so.
