Dan will be at market with his observation hive all market long, talking to customers and teaching folks the ins and outs to keeping bees. From how to build your hive, to tricks of the trade, Dan’s demo is a valuable resource that no aspiring bee keepers are going to want to miss! |
Pick of the Week: Eggplant!The summer crops keep rolling on in, making for a beautiful time at market. Another one of our favorite summer crops is Eggplant, which we are seeing a good amount of right now, in all shapes and sizes. You can find all sorts of varieties at market from the long, slim Ichiban eggplants, to the classic, bulbous Black beauty. They’re all delicious, and all versatile fruits to cook with. They make great dips and sauces like babaganoush and tahini and are the perfect ingredient for your next stir-fry. They bring with them some health benefits too, carrying nutrients which are known to have some antioxidant activity. Come on out to any of our three markets and you can pick some up for yourself all summer long! |
Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialWe are pleased to welcome, Maurepas Foods to market as our Green Plate Special vendors for the month of June! All June long, Chef Mike Doyle and his crew will be concocting lunch plates at our Tuesday market, utilizing much of our vendors’ fresh market fare in their dishes.
