Fresh & Local

On Saturday, October, 11th, come eat, drink, and mingle with fellow local food enthusiasts while supporting the Crescent City Farmers Market at the our first annual Moonlight Market! From 6-7pm, we’ll be hosting a patron party with Craft cocktail demonstration by local mixoligist Ian Julian, featuring Locally Preserved syrups and local spirits from Donner-Peltier Distillers. Food will be provided by Continental Provisions - a new real food venture from St. James Cheese Co., Cleaver & Co. and Bellegarde Bakery. Then from 7-10pm, the festivities will begin with Farm to Table fare from 20 top New Orleans restaurants, a local craft beer garden, local grain and cane to glass cocktails, live music, a silent auction, and more. For more information on the event or to buy tickets, click here. We look forward to seeing all of you in the moonlight!

Pick of the Week: 19th Birthday Celebration!

Can you believe it’s been 19 years since we first opened up our umbrellas at the corner of Magazine and Girod? This calls for a celebration! Come on out and grab a slice of birthday cake made by our very own Windfield Farm Bakery at 10 am, and stick around and enjoy some tunes from our favorite CCFM vendor band, the Delta Drifters. We’re so grateful for all of your continued support over the years, so come help yourself to some cake as a token of our gratitude!

Tuesday’s Green Plate Special

Seed brought some delicious vegan gumbo with them last Tuesday, changing the way many of us think about this southern staple. Omnivours, vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free folks alike will get a kick out of the dishes they’ve been serving up, so if you fall in any of these categories be sure to come on out and grab a plate this Tuesday!

Recipe of the Week

In addition to okra, one thing you can find at most of our markets all summer long is creole tomatoes. Pick up a bag and try out this Cheesy Creole Tomato Pie recipe courtesy of Emeril Lagasse.
