A big CCFM thank you! | October 20, 2014 |
Fresh & LocalThank you to everyone who came out to the grand opening of our newest Crescent City Farmers Market, Wednesdays in the historic French Market. With 26 vendors, countless supporters and customers, live music, and a great demo by Chef Ben Thibodeaux from Tableau, we are calling it a rousing success! Join us again this Wednesday from 2-6pm as we welcome even more vendors, live music by Mike Dill Band, and Chef Tommy DiGiovanni of Arnaud’s on the demo stage. More information on vendors, parking, and more on our website. Wednesdays not good for your schedule? With four weekly markets, you are sure to find a CCFM that works for you! |
Pick of the Week: Farm fresh and free range eggs!We are thrilled to welcome Happy Hen Farms to our Tuesday market with dozens upon dozens of farm fresh eggs. For years we have heard you say you wanted more eggs, and we are excited to make that wish come true. Farm eggs are rich in omego-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, vitamin D and protein. Those dark orange yokes and silky whites are beautiful hard boiled, poached, fried, scrambled. This week, wow the family and friends with Spaghetti Carbonara for an easy fall supper. |
Tuesday’s Green Plate SpecialThe big red truck that is La Cocinita has been helping hungry market shoppers grab a quick lunch for 2 weeks now, and we are continually excited about their delicious, fresh offerings. This week, grab a taco, arepa, bowl, or “burri-taco” this week and make market your freshest, most fun lunch break yet! |
Recipe of the WeekCustomers have been raving about the beautiful soft-shell crabs at market right now, and we are no exception. These tender beauties are best in Spring and Fall, and have a delicate, buttery flavor. Don’t relegate them to dinner or lunchtime poboys- they can make breakfast a treat with this Soft-shell Crab Eggs Benedict! Fresh market eggs and artisan market bread round out this meal. |
