Picks of the Week:

Morsel Returns to Mondays

You may have noticed that over the summer, the Morsel has been coming out on Tuesdays. Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on this change! After reassessing our goals, we're happy to announce that the newsletter is returning to Mondays. This will help us keep you informed about all things market-related for the week ahead, starting with the Tuesday Uptown Market. As our goals and community needs evolve, we continue to grow and improve, and we're grateful to have you along for the journey. See you at the market!

Market Umbrella Turns 29!

Market Umbrella is celebrating 29 years of providing fresh food and building a stronger community! Since its start in 1995 as a once-a-week event, the Crescent City Farmers Market has grown into three weekly, rain-or-shine markets, featuring over 120 local farmers, fishers, ranchers, florists, beekeepers, and food artisans.

Want to give us a birthday gift? There are plenty of ways to support Market Umbrella and CCFM! First, mark your calendar for Moonlight Market 2024—each ticket purchase helps us reach our fundraising goal. Early bird tickets go on sale September 30th! You can also get more involved by visiting our Moonlight Market page to explore sponsorship opportunities. And as always, donations are welcome—just visit our website or text CCFM to 44-321.

No RealCycle This Weekend

RealCycle will not be at the Sunday City Park Market this weekend, October 6th as they will be collecting at Gretna Fest! Please hold onto your recyclable and compost items until they return on Sunday, October 13th. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as the market is unable to accept these drop-offs in their absence. Your help ensures we can continue hosting community partners like RealCycle at the market without any issues—thank you for being part of this community effort!

Vendor of the Week:

Applied Arts Coffee

Carefully sourced and roasted with sharp attention to flavor, their coffee is one of the day’s simple pleasures. Applied Arts Coffee offers a range of specialty grade, single origin coffees and house blends at varying roast levels – including two options from their family coffee farm in Quindio, Colombia. Family owned and run by chef Baruch Rabasa, Applied Arts Coffee sources its beans from ethical and environmentally-conscientious importers before roasting them in small batches in New Orleans, LA. Alongside an appreciation for its refinement, it’s the everyday-ness of coffee that they celebrate - whether it be a savored morning brew, a midday pick-me-up, or the finishing touch of a delicious meal. Be sure to swing by the Tuesday Uptown Market or Thursday Mid-City Market and try some delicious coffee or horchata!

Recipe of the Week:
