Spice Up Your Life with Turmeric!
| November 4, 2024 |
Fresh & Local:Spice Up Your Life with Turmeric!Did you know that you can get fresh, local turmeric at the market? This vibrant root, with its earthy aroma and striking color, brings more than just flavor to your favorite dishes. Known for centuries as a healing powerhouse, turmeric is packed with curcumin, a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that can boost immunity, support heart health, and even improve your mood. While it’s perfect for adding a touch of spice to soups, smoothies, and teas, it’s also easy to dry out and grind into a powder for homemade turmeric tea – ideal for cozy nights and warming up your winter routine. Visit Poché Family Farm at the Tuesday Uptown Market and Sunday City Park Market for both fresh and dried turmeric products and let the golden goodness of fresh turmeric bring a little sunshine to your plate! |

Vendor of the Week:JuiceSeeCat and Joost started JuiceSee in 2020, when healthy food accessibility was declining due to the uncertainty of the pandemic. They believe in the medicinal qualities of raw fruits and vegetables as vital support for the healing process and their daily health and wellness. In their humble beginnings, they felt a sense of purpose in serving their community by making fresh juices and smoothies to order on their friend's porch in the Bywater neighborhood. They were able to build their own juice and smoothie truck to bring their products to festivals and markets. “This business has been such a wild and incredible ride for our family, and we are so excited to see where it takes us next!” Visit JuiceSee at all three of our weekly markets! |
Recipe of the Week:Vietnamese Greens and Shrimp SoupThis week’s recipe comes courtesy of Farmer Tom from VEGGI Co-op!
