With lent over, the days getting warmer, and Jazz Fest in full swing it’s time to celebrate! Try this natural twist on the strawberry daiquiri to sip on with your friends and family before you head to the festival grounds. Pick up your fresh strawberries and local honey for a refreshing treat. Strawberry season is almost over, so get your fill while you can. Happy Jazz Fest y’all!
- 1/2 cup washed, hulled and sliced strawberries (see note for measuring)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 (1 1/2-ounce) jigger rum
- Small handful of ice (not needed if berries are frozen)
- 1 tablespoon honey
Place recipe ingredients and a small handful of ice into a blender and process until well blended and slushy.
The Crescent City Farmers Market operates weekly year-round in four New Orleans neighborhoods. The CCFM hosts nearly 80 local small farmers, fishers and food producers, and more than 100,000 shoppers annually.
