Thank You for Making Moonlight Market Magical! | April 24, 2023

Fresh & Local:

Thank You for Making Moonlight Market Magical!

We are so grateful to everyone in the CCFM community that helped make Moonlight Market so successful! Together, we raised funds to support the Crescent City Farmers Market and allow us to host more than 75 food-producing families and provide fresh food access for a growing community of local eaters!

This event was made possible through the hard work and generosity of our chefs, sponsors, musicians, volunteers, staff and of course, the attendees! We are so grateful for the passion and support of our local food system in this community and we look forward to exploring new connections and growth planted at Moonlight Market.

Vendor of the Week:

Mycelium Express

If you have been to any of our markets, you will recognize the two masterminds behind Mycelium Express. Rickey and Mike have been growing mushrooms since September of 2018 and have been a beloved part of our market since the Summer of 2019. Rickey and Mike cultivate a wide selection of mushrooms including Oyster, Shiitake, Portobello, Cremini, Lions’ Mane, Coral Tooth, and King Trumpet. They also carry wild foraged mushrooms like Golden Chanterelles and Morels when they are in season, so get them while you can! And not to mention, Rickey and Mike offer grow-at-home kits and specialty tinctures made from their mushrooms. If you haven’t met these “fun-guys”, you can find them every other Tuesday at the Uptown Market, Thursdays at the Mid-City Market, or on Sundays at our City Park Market.

Recipe of the Week:

Quick Pickled Radishes

This quick pickled radish recipe from Love and Lemons puts the “rad” in radish! Seriously, all puns aside, this recipe is nutritious, perfectly simple, and an amazing way to add tangy flavor and complexity to dishes. Slap these pickled radishes on tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, or snack on them as-is! They keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks which is more than enough time to incorporate these pickled root veggies into a myriad of meals.

What’s your favorite dish to make after visiting the Crescent City Farmers Market? Share your recipes with us on Instagram or Facebook and it might be featured in our weekly newsletter!
